here are some news from the European Nyckelharpa Cooperation (ENT: www.nyckelharpa.eu)
1) ENCORE Radio Broadcast
Wednesday, 30th October 2013, 22:05 to 22:50 CET, the national Germany radio “Deutschlandfunk” will report on the project "ENCORE - European Cooperation nyckelharpa - Orchestral Experience - between European folk music and contemporary compositions" within the series "Music Forum".
In August, for ENCORE met 24 Nyckelharpa Players from 10 European countries in Forlimpopoli, northern Italy, to rehearse new compositions as nyckelharpa orchestra and to present them in a public concert in the Cathedral of Bertinoro. Composers had been invited in an open call to submit new compositions for this occasion. 15 world premieres could be presented to the Italian public.

The radio report of the “Deutschlandfunk” will feature the nyckelharpa and the project, but of course also present some music from the concert. The spoke text will be in German, even though most of the Interviews had been held in English, and English was the common working language of the project.
On the website the “Deutschlandfunk” a live stream is available, so that the broadcast can be received worldwide via the Internet. In the menu on the right side there is also a small program "dradio-recorder" for programmed automatic recording by the computer. Please regard the Central European Time CET!!!

2) ENCORE CD and Video
The CD of this ENCORE concert will be available 1st of November: 16 very different compositions for an orchestra only with nyckelharpas.

3) Nyckelharpa books
The number of nyckelharpa books published by the ENT has been continued: After the book with daily exercises by Marco Ambrosini, Jule Bauer now published her book "Playing Nyckelharpa": a comprehensive manual for learning this wonderful instrument. The texts are written in German and English, the more than 50 melodies are international ;-)

4) European Nyckelharpa Training
The continuous "European Nyckelharpa Training" starts into a new year and a new round with new participants. It is intended for people who want to get into playing nyckelharpa more intensive than this is possible with single workshops and self-studies. Nyckelharpa player are welcome, both advanced as well as beginners on this instrument if the latter have musical experiences otherwise. If interested, please be sure to ask! An expression of interest will best be done promptly, so all questions (even maybe of financing) can be clarified.
The training is offered as well in Germany at the Academy BURG FÜRSTENECK as in Italy at the Scuola di Musica Popolare di Forlimpopoli .

5) Master Class for Nyckelharpa at the University
For the first time in German, at the music academy “Staatliche Hochschule für Musik, Trossingen” a Master Class for nyckelharpa will be offered.

6) New Year 1014, Fürstenecker Bordunale
1 - 5 January 2014, the Academy BURG FÜRSTENECK offers the "Fürstenecker Bordunale" as a lovely start into the New Year. Among other courses, there will be an instrumental workshop for nyckelharpa with Annette Osann and an ensemble workshop for Swedish music with Emilia Amper.

7) International Days of the Nyckelharpa
The 10th International Days of the Nyckelharpa days have been a lovely event and a great success with 80 nyckelharpa players, intensive courses, many exhibitors and a wonderful concert.
The 11th International Days of the Nyckelharpa will be 2 - 5 October 2014. The workshop program will presented soon on the website

8)Trainings at the Eric Sahlström Institutet, Sweden
Who wants to get a very intense and concentrated experience with the nyckelharpa, especially the Swedish repertoire, should regard the one-year-course at the Eric Sahlström Institute in Tobo, Sweden. The next start will be after the summer 2014. In addition, there are also shorter courses as well as a two-year training for building of nyckelharpas.

1. ENCORE Radiosendung Deutschlandfunk
Am Mittwoch, den 30. Oktober 2013 berichtet der Deutschlandfunk von 22:05 – 22:50 MEZ in der Reihe „Musikforum“ über das Projekt „ENCORE – European Nyckelharpa Cooperation – Orchestral Experience – between European folk music and contemporary compositions“
Zu ENCORE trafen sich im August dieses Jahres 24 Nyckelharpa-Spieler/innen aus 10 europäischen Ländern in Forlimpopoli, Norditalien, um als Nyckelharpa-Orchester neue Kompositionen einzustudieren und in einem Konzert in der Kathedrale von Bertinoro der Öffentlichkeit zu präsentieren. Komponisten waren in einem offenen Aufruf eingeladen, für diesen Anlass neue Kompositionen einzureichen. 15 Welturaufführungen konnten so dem italienischen Publikum präsentiert werden.

Die Sendung des Deutschlandfunks wird die Nyckelharpa und das Projekt in den Vordergrund stellen, aber natürlich auch Musik aus dem Konzert präsentieren.

2. ENCORE CD und Videos

3. Nyckelharpa-Bücher
Die Reihe der Buchveröffentlichungen der ENT wird fortgesetzt: Nach dem Etüden-Buch von Marco Ambrosini hat nun Jule Bauer ihr Buch „Nyckelharpa spielen“ veröffentlicht, ein Handbuch für das Erlernen dieses wunderbaren Instruments. Die Texte sind in Deutsch und Englisch geschrieben, die über 50 Melodien sind international ;-)

4. Europäische Nyckelharpa Fortbildung
Die kontinuierliche „Europäische Nyckelharpa Fortbildung“ geht in ein neues Jahr und eine neue Runde mit neuen Teilnehmenden. Sie ist gedacht für Menschen, die intensiver in das Musizieren auf der Nyckelharpa einsteigen wollen, als dies mit einzelnen Workshops und Selbststudium möglich ist. Sowohl fortgeschrittene Nyckelharpa-Spieler/innen sind willkommen wie auch Anfänger auf diesem Instrument, wenn diese anderweitige musikalische Vorbildung mitbringen. Bei Interesse bitte unbedingt nachfragen! Eine Interessensbekundung sollte am besten zeitnah erfolgen, damit alle Fragen (ggf. auch der Finanzierung) geklärt werden können.
Die Fortbildung wird parallel in Deutschland an der Akademie BURG FÜRSTENECK und in Italien an der Scuola di Musica Popolare di Forlimpopoli angeboten.

5. Master Class für Nyckelharpa an der Hochschule
Erstmals in Deutschland wird es an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen eine Masterclass für Nyckelharpa geben. Siehe: www.training.nyckelharpa.eu/masterclass-trossingen.
6. Zum Neuen Jahr: Fürstenecker Bordunale
Als Start in das Neue Jahr 2014 bietet die Akademie BURG FÜRSTENECK vom 1. – 5. Januar 2014 die „Fürstenecker Bordunale“. Neben anderen Kursen gibt es einen Instrumental-Workshop für Nyckelharpa mit Annette Osann und einen Ensemble-Workshop für Schwedische Musik mit Emilia Amper.

7. Internationale Nyckelharpa-Tage
Die 10. Internationalen Nyckelharpa-Tage waren mit 80 Nyckelharpaspieler/innen, intensiven Kursen, vielen Ausstellern und einem wunderbaren Konzert ein großer Erfolg.

8. Kurse am Eric Sahlström Institute, Schweden
Wer sehr intensiv und konzentriert Nyckelharpa lernen möchte, insbesondere auch das schwedische Repertoire, sollte sich den Jahreskurs am Eric Sahlström Institute in Tobo, Schweden ansehen. Der nächste Start ist nach dem Sommer 2014. Außerdem gibt es dort auch kürzere Kurse sowie eine zweijährige Fortbildung zum Bau von Nyckelharpas.
